Danger of fire - Nazi propaganda tried to misuse the musical explosiveness of Liszt's Les Préludes and Beethoven's Eroica for its own purposes. But music cannot be appropriated. Beethoven deleted the name of the dedicatee, Napoleon, from the score during his lifetime. Today we marvel at a work that has lost none of its revolutionary freshness. Also: Tan Dun's violin concerto Fire Ritual - a memorial to the victims of war. It is dedicated to the Norwegian violinist Eldbjørg Hemsing, who we have the honour of welcoming as soloist at this concert.
