Education

The Philharmonie offers a wide-ranging education programme for children and young people, including Family, Cushion and Youngsters Concerts as well as school concerts. The concerts of the small eduart stand for learning, fun and the joy of music and are designed so that young and old get their money's worth.

Instrument case
One musician, one actor, two instrument cases.
While the musician unpacks his instrument and makes music, the actor conjures up special instruments from his case for the children to explore and try out: What does a violin look like from the inside? What does dragon's blood have to do with instrument varnish? Can you make music with a garden hose? A musically lively dialogue and an instrumental experience with all senses.

An offer for KiTas and schools
Connected
School orchestras from secondary schools can bring musicians from the Southwest German Philharmonic Orchestra on board to help them rehearse for an upcoming concert. In this way, music-loving students and orchestra professionals are brought together. Contacts can be made and built up. The Philharmonie is also happy to invite students to attend rehearsals and concerts as part of this project, thus giving them an insight into the typical day-to-day life of a musician.

Sample visits
Close up!
School classes and preschool groups can get a close-up look at the orchestra musicians during a rehearsal. The time and duration of the visit are determined individually according to the wishes of the visitors in coordination with the orchestra's work schedules. Before the rehearsal visit, the groups receive a short introduction by the music education department.
Secondary schools have the opportunity to attend our public dress rehearsals.
